Haha it’s not a problem at all! I’m always happy to answer any questions. When I went to Dolce Vita I was in the VIP room because I could not choose a favorite song so I could not decide which other room to stay in, all of the other rooms are named after BIGBANG songs like Tonight, Crayon, Blue and so on. But of course the VIP name is definitely dear to my heart. The room was very clean, very neat, not a spot of dust anywhere. The furniture was very modern, very smooth, a little quirky but I liked it, not the most comfortable for sitting though. But the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in! The sheets were made of very fine material so it felt like slipping into a warm bath. The windows go almost to the floor so you can really see everything outside, it is a lake with trees on the side so it feels like you are so far away from the city (and it is very far away from Seoul) and in nature. And the outside pool! Ah, the pool was amazing! It was quite big and comfortable, the massage function was so relaxing. You can lie in the pool and look at the mountains, it is a heavenly feeling.
I went with some other VIP friends, they stayed in Cafe and Haru Haru. Cafe was probably my favorite room. Because I love the song^^ but also because the design was exquisite and very stylish, and very very colorful! It gave the room such a bright and vibrant feeling. The room also had a wonderful view, you could see very far out into the mountains with almost nothing in the way. It almost felt like you were in an European country.
The best part about my stay though was definitely Jiyong’s parents! His parents are two of the kindest people I have ever met. His mother made us breakfast in the morning (delicious, traditional Korean food) and the family ate with us. We didn’t want to talk about Jiyong because we were afraid that they were already getting too many questions, but they saw that we were VIP and were kind enough to bring Jiyong up and even show us some old pictures. They had only praises for him, and of course so did we! There were a few other visitors from foreign countries who could not speak Korean at all, they were VIP as well, and Jiyong’s father talked to them in English and translated everything we said about Jiyong for them even though we spoke for a long time. His English is really very good! (I think, but my English is not that good so I do not know for sure) The foreign visitors had a trip plan but did not know how to get to the next place so Jiyong’s father drove them there and went to pick them up back to Dolce Vita! He did this for both days that the foreign visitors were staying there. Jiyong’s mother stayed in the hotel and we did not want to disturb her day so we went out to walk around the neighborhood, but she ran out after us to ask us what we wanted to to eat for dinner so she could go and buy ingredients. I could really see that kindness is an inherited trait in the family.
I was there before Mari joined the family so I did not see her, but I did see Gaho and Jolie, they are very large now! Though they seemed to be having a quarrel when I was there, barking at each other. Jiyong’s father is particularly fond of Gaho, he goes out and talks and plays with Gaho all the time during the day. I really loved Dolce Vita and will probably go again soon. Korean VIP do not stay for more than two days because we do not want to disturb Jiyong’s parents too much, there are not many rooms so we want to make sure more international fans have a chance to go too.
This was a long post but I hope I described Dolce Vita well! It is a lovely place and well worth visiting.
Jiyong is particularly famous for being a good son, he is chosen every year as “most filial son” by idols and many many young people in Korea admire his character. I do not know details about their relationship but enough to say that he is very very close to his family, particularly to his sister. When he goes shopping he will always look at things for his sister and buy her presents. He grew up in a very loving family who gave him a lot of support and love, they did not give him the overwhelming academic pressure like ordinary Korean families, but they taught him the best manners I have seen in any Korean. I have stayed at the hotel he gave to his parents, Dolce Vita, and I have met his parents and they are extremely polite and very kind, you can tell from the way they speak to each other and to the staff members. His mother is also a wonderful cook!^^ His father told me that they don’t get to see Jiyong very often because of his work, but that he will remember to call and talk to them every few days even if he is abroad. They have really raised him well.
The one time I go outside, I find this.
